Description
A painter who captures the feeling of belonging to many places and none.
Lulaloo paints in watercolour — the medium itself a meditation on impermanence and letting go. Each painting holds a memory that isn’t quite yours, a nostalgia for moments lived elsewhere.
Born in Buenos Aires. She studied graphic design, then took intensive courses at the Royal Drawing Academy in London. Now she lives in Switzerland, close to Geneva, painting the in-between spaces where displacement becomes art.
Her work has appeared in Minted, Pottery Barn Kids, and West Elm patterns. But what matters more: her paintings live in the quiet longing between continents.
She paints in melancholic tones — not sadness, but the ache of having loved multiple places and not quite belonging to one. The colours are memory. The composition is precision (the designer in her). But the feeling — the feeling is watercolour’s gift: imperfect, alive, letting you see the brushstroke, the moment the colour ran.
The result is work that feels both intentional and inevitably unfinished. Which is where the truth lives.
