Description
At the age of 19 Jeannine started painting while studying music. She had a few private art lessons and since then she has always picked up a brush to paint. It has been 10 years now and she is more in love with it than ever before. Over the years she developed her own style, learnt through trial and error, and got inspiration from many artists.
She got married to a Swiss man, that is when she left South Africa and moved to Switzerland. She work with acrylic paint on canvas and love experimenting with mixed media, from fabric to ordinary wall paints. She usually focus on an object or part of a person that catches her eye. Then, she plays with colors, textures and patterns as backgrounds. She usually keep people faces hidden so that the viewer can identify more personally with the painting.
“Creativity is something beautiful and a passion that brings joy and excitement to my everyday life. One must just go for it and be surprised at what one can do and learn. Paint something that makes you want to start another and another …”
