troy argyros
Troy Argyros is a representational artist based in Melbourne, Australia. “My practice focuses on the three genres of portraiture, still life and landscape, using the time-honoured principles of classical art to honestly portray my human experience. To create work ‘in praise of’ the beauty of nature, is to show a deep reverence for life itself.”
Troy holds a Bachelor of Fine Art Painting from Monash University, and is also an alumni of The Drawing and Painting program at The Florence Academy of Art. Troy has held five solo exhibitions in Melbourne, participated in group shows such as The AME Bale Travelling Scholarship Exhibition and The Kennedy Prize, and is included in private collections nationally. His recent achievements include winning The Graeme Hildebrand Prize for Emerging Artists in the oil painting category in 2017, and undertaking an artist residency at Casa Lu in Mexico City in 2019.
